Our Client has a vacancy for a Drilling Construction Mechanical Engineer.  This is a contract position, based in Baku, Azerbaijan, on a 6/2 rotation.

As Drilling Construction Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities will include the following:
Establish and maintain a SAFE working environment within the sphere of influence, ensuring erection contractor compliance with HSE goals and objectives.
Promote commitment to Health, Safety and Environment as an integral component of sound construction and commissioning execution.
Monitor site operations constantly to detect unsafe acts/practices. Conduct formal and informal hazard appraisals.
Attendance for work pre-start meetings ensuring the quality of the meetings are maintained and understood by all in attendance.
Inspection of mechanical packages when received at site, including a detailed damage inspection and P&ID walk downs of the packages.
Review of any work transfer from package release and communicating detailed work scopes to contractor.
Review preservation requirements for mechanical and HVAC equipment and ensure that these requirements are clear understood and implement by the contractor. Coordinate with Drilling Preservation Engineer.

Qualifications and experience required:
An Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications/experience.
Ability to interpret and understand P&IDs, D&IDs, UFDs, PFDs, GA's and other engineering drawings.
Mark up PUNs on issued drawings.
Good knowledge of Mechanical and HVAC package equipment.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Good inter-personal skills.
Ability to produce written reports.
Computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

Extensive experience on Offshore Drilling facilities involving:-
Mechanical and HVAC equipment installation.
System handover Mechanical Completion.
Air Balancing and testing.
Pipe assembly, flange management.

The day rate for this position is negotiable.
