Job Description
We are currently looking for a Draughtsperson for a permanent staff role to join our client , the market leader in the design and manufacture of wireline pressure control equipment Your main duties will include: Producing engineering documents (such as 3d cad models drawings, technical illustrations, manuals) and ensure they are completed within the required timescales Progressing small and medium sized engineering projects, as allocated by the Principal Engineer, or working as part of a team on larger projects. In both cases, most work should be carried out with minimal supervision, but with regular consultation with the Principal Engineer or other team members Project work, in addition to draughting, will include design input and calculations, as well as other organisational tasks as deemed appropriate by the Principal Engineer. To remain constantly aware of targets and progress of projects being worked on and communicate with colleagues and line manager for reporting. To ensure all assigned tasks are completed within the required timescales and to report accurately all working time using the tools provided. Liaising with clients and suppliers. Issuing engineering documents as required. Assisting in general clerical and administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the Engineering Department. To carry out other reasonable duties requested by the Principal Engineer. You should ideally be qualified to HNC level (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline and have experience in a similar draughting technical role in a design environment. Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD as well as a major PDM system will be a distinct advantage, although full training will be provided where required. Previous experience of working in a Design Office with well established processes in compliance with ISO9001, API Q1 and other Design Codes relating to the Oil, or similar Industry will be preferable. Experience in any of the following will additionally be desirable; wireline pressure control equipment, slickline tools, wellheads, xmas trees, pressure vessels or similar. You will be a strong team player, willing and able to assist other team members. You must also possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills and be enthusiastic and energetic with a keen desire to succeed, producing accurate work at all times.
