Draughtsman - 3D

My client is a worldwide leader in providing major mechanical components for land and offshore drilling rigs complete land drilling and well servicing rigs tubular inspection and internal tubular coatings drill string equipment extensive lifting and handling equipment and a broad offering of downhole drilling motors bits and tools. We are currently seeking experienced Draughtsman to join this business in their Aberdeen office.

JOB PURPOSE:

- Producing engineering documents such as 3d cad models drawings technical illustrations manuals and ensure they are completed within the required timescales

- Progressing small and medium sized engineering projects as allocated by the Principal Engineer or working as part of a team on larger projects. In both cases most work should be carried out with minimal supervision but with regular consultation with the Principal Engineer or other team members

- Project work in addition to draughting will include design input and calculations as well as other organisational tasks as deemed appropriate by the Principal Engineer

- To remain constantly aware of targets and progress of projects being worked on and communicate with colleagues and line manager for reporting

- To ensure all assigned tasks are completed within the required timescales and to report accurately all working time using the tools provided

- Liaising with clients and suppliers

- Issuing engineering documents as required

- Assisting in general clerical and administratie duties to ensure the smooth running of the Engineering Department

- To carry out other reasonable duties requested by the Principal Engineer

Essential:

- Experience in a similar draughting technical role in a design environment

- Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD as well as a major PDM system

- ISO9001 API Q1 and other Design Codes relating to the Oil industry

- Wireline pressure control equipment slickline tools wellheads xmas trees pressure vessels or similar

Education:

- HNC level or equivalent in an engineering discipline
