Design Engineer - Slickeline/wireline

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Design Engineer to be based in Aberdeen. You will be responsible for producing engineering designs and associated engineering documents such as drawings calculations reports and ensure they are completed within the required timescales. You will progress all sizes of engineering projects as allocated by the Team Leader or working as part of a team on larger projects. In both cases all work should be carried out with minimal supervision and with consultation with the Team Leader and other team members where necessary. You will be involved in project work in addition to design will include all aspects of the design process such as modelling draughting and testing of products as deemed appropriate by the Team Leader. You will liaise with clients and suppliers as required and provide engineering support to all group companies.

As a Senior Design Engineer you will be qualified to degree level or similar in Mechanical Engineering. Previous exposure to Slickline Tools Wireline Systems Wellhead Pressure Control Equipment or Subsea Christmas trees will be a distinct advantage. A good understanding of manufacturing methods and associated costs is essential. You must also possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills and must be enthusiastic and energetic with a keen desire to succeed producing accurate work and be both self-motivated and a strong team player. Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD as well as PDM or advanced Document management will be a distinct advantage. Previous experience of working in a Design Office as part of a multi-national design group with well established processes in compliance with ISO9001 and other Design Codes relating to the Oil & Gas or similar industries will be preferable.
