JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Job Responsibilities



Cost Engineering;

o Utilizes existing project Cost Management tools - Monitors appropriate budgets, analyze costs , commitments, expenditures and forecasts

o Prepares project cash flow forecast for appropriate cost commitments

o Assists in the preparation and review of cost estimates for Phase 4

o Coordinates change control system for the projects Geotechnical Survey program and other in-country works, local contracts. Includes; Review of Contractors, progress claims, validates invoices, and manages the Change registers

o Reporting of Project Costs to the Downstream Cost Engineering lead in Houston

o Interface with Central Cost and Finance team in Perth and Houston Cost Engineer

Planning;

o Ensures appropriate levels of due diligence and progress measurement for those activities undertaken by the Perth based PMT

o Utilizes existing scheduling tools and prepares input to reports on regular basis including evaluation of earned value or alternate methods of progress measurement

o Interface with Central Planning team in Perth and Houston Planning Engineer

Cost Estimate support ;

o Assist in gathering current market intelligence for benchmark purposes. Liaise with other ABU and PRC Assurance network as part of the assurance process.

General ;

o General Project Controls support as required.

o Actively support and participate in the Projects HES Culture

o Attend meetings with contractors and other Key stakeholders, Upstream, Central teams as necessary





Project Overview

The Wheatstone Project is a grassroots LNG project to be constructed near Onslow in Western Australia.

The Downstream team is primarily based in Houston Texas, with a satellite team in Perth to manage the in-country scope of work to support the FEED program, permitting and other project interfaces. A major element of the Perth work in 2010 is managing a major geotechnical survey at Onslow, to support the FEED work in Houston.

The Project entered into FEED in 3Q-2009, with a 24 month FEED program in Houston Texas with Bechtel Oil, Gas and Chemicals (Bechtel) as the prime engineering contractor.

Cost/Planning Engineer Role (Perth Based)

The Downstream Team is presently seeking an experienced Cost / Planning Engineer resource. Primarily to support the Perth based Project Management Team in Perth, WA, and provide liaison and coordination between Perth and the project Business Team in Houston.

This position reports functionally to the Houston based Business Manager (or delegate) and takes day to day direction from the Perth Downstream Manager (or delegate).

Primary Focus Areas for this position are; Cost, schedule, change control and the associated reporting function.
