Our Client has a vacancy for a Cost Estimator based in Calgary Canada. This is a contract position.

Summary of Position:
Provide cost estimates for the Corner Project as a member of a multidisciplinary project team with initially 10 staff growing to about 30 in the concept phase.

Accoutabilities:
Apply Company and project specific HSE policies and related standards.
Achieve an accident and incident free performance.
Development and validation of project cost estimates for the Corner facilities.
Analysis of data to maximize estimate accuracy including estimate quantities benchmarking pricing adjustments and methodologies.
Oversee the EP contractors consistency of data and reporting standards.
In close cooperation with PRO EST ensure adequate quality assurance of all deliverables meeting the format and general requirements of Statoil.
Keep the agreed schedule for all deliverables.
Communicate effectively with peers colleagues contractors and customers.
Create a positive team spirit and ensure adequate workload and professional development.

Qualifications:
Engineering degree with substantial practical exposure to design procurement fabrication construction activities of large projects preferably in the petrochemical industry.
Familiar with cost estimating principles and processes for capital projects.
Familiar with conditions specific to a northern climate and Muskeg environment.
Understanding of work processes within very large projects.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills as required for a large project environment.
