Our Client has a vacancy for a Corporate Quality Engineer, based in Aberdeen. This is a permanent position.
Principal Responsibilities:
Provide input to and implement quality objectives in support of global quality strategy.
Ensure improvement of, effective deployment and compliance with Company Management System.
Execute internal and external audits, in accordance with the agreed audit schedule.
Liaise with external certification bodies for ISO 9001 and PED, etc.
Provide quality support to tenders and client presentations.
Provide global quality support and coverage to projects as required.
Transfer of best practice and lessons learned across the quality function in the global business.
Manage vendor evaluation and supplier quality management process.
Management of 3rd party Inspection Services providers.
Capture and report any deficiencies and input to preventive & corrective action tracking database as required.
Conduct analysis and report themes/trends identifying remedial actions from preventive and corrective data.
Provide support in the recruitment, co-ordination and regular support of deployed quality resources.
Interface with chief engineers on quality issues and technical incidents.
Provide support in the development of project specific quality plans and inspection and test plans and input to supplier ITP's as required.
Advise on Quality and certification requirements for bulk material purchase and for specialist packages.
Co-ordinate third party vendor inspection visits, review and distribution of inspection reports.
Provide support on Verification / ICP Requirements and liaison with Independent Bodies.
Attend kick off meetings as required for various types of key equipment packages.
Skills/Qualifications:
Technical/Business Skills:
Quality management experience in a project management and/or engineering/construction environment.
Extensive ISO 9000:2000 knowledge.
Knowledge of PED/ATEX/API/relevant ISO standards.
Experience in application of business improvement techniques.
Experience of construction certification and close out requirements.
Willingness to travel to company and supplier locations.
Interpersonal Skills:
Leadership.
Excellent oral & written communication.
Strong inter-personal skill with ability to liaise with customer and senior management.
Competencies:
Ability to work well in team and independently.
Good time management and work prioritisation.
Business & Industry Experience:
Preferably time served.
Previous quality management experience including within oil and gas.
Educational Attainments:
Qualified to HNC minimum.
Auditing Qualification.
