Job Description

Our client is an international Oil & Gas company providing energy worldwide. Operating facilities and marketing products in the majority of the world's countries, they also carry out exploration for oil and natural gas in six continents. They are currently looking to recruit a Contract Administrator based in Melbourne.


As Contract Administrator you will be required to execute contract administration processes and coordinate interfaces post-contract award for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) 1 and EPC2 contracts. Your main responsibilities will include:



  • Gain alignment with the Project Management Team (PMT) on project contract administration needs, objectives and requirements

  • Develop an EPC Contract Administration plan

  • Coordinate internal kick-off meeting with Company personnel to review: contract terms and conditions, the change order process, and claims avoidance

  • Coordinate external kick-off meetings with company and contractor personnel to review the coordination procedures, contract deliverables, change order process, and business practices

  • Where applicable, implement contract provisions post-award to novate selected long lead equipment sourced by PMT to contractor

  • Ensure Contractor's contract administration and subcontracting procedures and processes meet contract requirements

  • Review / comment on procurement procedures / processes deliverables to assure compliance with Company's requirements

  • Review Contractor's compliance with Company's prevention of information brokering and business standards guidelines

  • Develop and execute administrative processes that advance the project's procedures, goals and objectives


Qualifications and experience required:



  • Considerable Procurement experience

  • Intermediate to expert contracting skills

  • Experience in construction, maintenance, drilling, or production services contracting

  • Detailed knowledge and application of ExxonMobil requirements (e.g. DOAG, AHB)

  • Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business / Engineering

  • Upstream experience beneficial, but not required

  • Must be a self-starter and able to work in a virtual organization

  • Ability to strongly defend the company's positions during negotiations with EPC Contractor

  • Major service/construction contract administration experience preferred


This is a contract position.


The rate for this position is negotiable.
