Job Description
Our client, a large energy company with offices in Aberdeen is now actively recruiting for the following key position -

Construction Manager - Aberdeen, Staff
Salary c80-90k Basic Package

Purpose
Responsible for the construction of assigned Mega projects in accordance with company standards, management processes, company values and plans.

Through these activities projects construction contributes to the companies ultimate objective of producing hydrocarbons in safe manner whilst minimising scheduled and unscheduled deferments.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure that the risk of the planned construction activities are ALARP and that all activities offshore are executed safely within the safe operating practices of the installation.
Participate as a member of the Projects directorate leadership team in delivering company Project directorate business targets.
Owner of the construction contracts (s) and directly accountable for the performance of the contract(s).
Construct the assigned construction activities on time, within budget and to the agreed functionality utilising fit for purpose QA/QC systems.
Challenge and contribute to the constructional aspects of project design to obtain the optimal technical and economic solution for the company.
Maintain awareness of the construction execution of assigned project work to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Build effective working relationships with other departments
Establish and manage a professional relationship with vendors to ensure provision of deliverables, services and professional expertise in due time.
Ensure construction plans are in accordance with the integrated activity plans including impact on offshore production operations, costs and execution POB.
Facilitate compliance with the stage gate and change request processes.
Ensure that any changes to construction activities are identified in a timely manner and that consequences are mitigated and reflected in an updated IAP.
Set and implement performance targets for significant construction performance improvement.
Co-ordinate construction and operational changes in liaison with operations by adherence to internal management of change procedures and observation of due diligence to ensure a high degree of asset integrity.
Encourage good, open communication within the construction community, promoting a culture of involvement, participation and adherence to company values

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

* Previous Mega Project Experience

* Good technical understanding of project construction.

* Project management experience.

* Good contract negotiation skills and contract management experience.

* Good understanding of the commercial environment in UK North Sea.

* Ability to create positive relations with peers and stakeholders internally and externally.

* Previous experience of working for a global oil & gas operator is preferred

* Strategic thinker

* previous experience of building a team around you
