Job Title: Construction Manager - Cables

Location: Didcot

Project: Electricity Alliance West

Duration: Permanent only

Required by: ASAP

Expected Rate: £40-£45K per annum

Key Responsibilities

· Attend and contribute to all relevant project meetings and provide site based input as appropriate.

· Responsible for providing governance and setting the direction of project delivery and deal with the day to day issues of site teams

· Ensure that all works are carried out to the highest quality standards with particular respect to workmanship issues.

· Work jointly with the Performance Manager in order to improve overall performance in delivery. In particular, ensure that performance management ethos and practice is adopted by site delivery staff.

· Manage day to day issues of all reporting staff and, where necessary those further down your management line.

· Provide any required reports for the Operations Manager (Cables) to the required standard and deadlines.

· Hold detailed Knowledge and understanding of the construction aspects of all Cable Schemes and provide support and advice where required.

· Ensure construction of all cables projects runs safely to programme and budget

· Lead or assist with any enabling projects to improve safety, construction capability, or other areas where improvements can be realised in the Alliance.

Knowledge / Experience

· Excellent verbal and written communication

· Good programme management skills

· HIV Cable Installation experience

· Good Knowledge of National Grid Electricity Safety rules

· Previous project management experience

· Significant site management experience

· Engineering qualification (Degree/HNC/ or equivalent)

· NRSAWA accredited

· Full clean driving license
