Our client is a major Oil & Gas exploration and production company. They are currently looking to recruit a Commissioning Supervisor (Oil & Gas) based in Oman.

As Commissioning Supervisor (Oil & Gas) your main responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out commissioning activities on mechanical and steam generation systems including steam blowing, boil-out and dry-out of steam boiler, lube oil flushing, dynamic tests of rotating equipment (blowers, pumps & compressors)


• Provide commissioning inputs during the design phase and during preparation of Site Specific Procedures (SSP)


• Prepares commissioning strategy/philosophy, execution plan, systemization guideline/Markup drawings, commissioning HSE plan, commissioning procedures/Method Statements, Vendors Mobilization Plan, Winpcs check sheets/ITP and other documents in all aspects of commissioning


• Ensure all mechanical systems are built and installed as preconstruction documents, thru monitoring of Contractors field activities and witnessing Key activities of Contractor during the MC and Precomm period


• Tack check sheets/punch lists progresses, sub-system/system completion/handover certificates, preservation situation, and issue/update Punch lists through Winpcs


• Issue work order for commissioning tools, material, manpower plan through SAP


• Ensure that commissioning execution is undertaken in compliance with project procedures and standards, and that environmental and safety standards are maintained


• Ensure implementation of Flawless Start up Initiative (FSI) Management System, and Operation Readiness and Assurance (OR&A) Management System


• Ensure that Health and Safety, Environmental and QA Procedures are followed


• Determine material requirements and liaise with Procurement in a timely manner to ensure all materials are available to complete the project requirements - review supplier's quotations from a process engineering standpoint


• Take charge in the preparation of Plants Commissioning Procedures and Plants Operating Manuals


• Coordinate the interfaces between Engineering, Construction, Operations and Maintenance during CSU activities


• Coordinating completions and integration aspects of the commissioning and startup through construction and commissioning to final handover to Operations and Maintenance department


• Participate in the review of Inspection and Operational Test Reports from completions group


• Participate in the development of Commissioning dossiers and reports


• Act as Issuing Authority for PTW system

Qualifications and experience required:

• Minimum HNC, preferably degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering


• Extensive industry experience including experience in commissioning


• Substantial supervisory experience


• Previous Plant commissioning and start up Experience is essential

This is a contract position.
