Civil/Structural Engineer job in UK
Our client, a global engineering services group, seeks an outstanding Civil/Structural Engineer to be joining their growing team. The role will be based in the Civil Structural Section of the company. The candidate will interface with other departments including Process, Balance of Plant and Piping. The candidate will be expected to make frequent visits to site as required. Reporting to the Lead Engineer key responsibilities will include-
· Preparation of Technical Specifications
· Preparation of calculations for foundations and structures
· Checking of calculations prepared by others
· Checking of drawings prepared by others
Suitable candidates will be experienced Civil/Structural Engineers with a knowledge of industry codes and practices such as BS 8110, BS5950, BS6399 and BS8004 to work on Post Combustion Carbon Capture Projects. Experience of Foundations for plant on brownfield sites would be advantageous. Candidates must have good capability in the design of steelwork structures including the use of STADD and TEDDS. Consideration will be given to engineers with good general building and industrial experience with some of the following; piled foundations, assessment of existing steel structures, foundations for dynamic loadings monitoring work on site.
Candidates should possess a good undergraduate degree -BSc (Hons)/BEng (Hons)- in Civil/Structural Engineering plus associate/full membership of a professional institution. For the right individual this is an outstanding opportunity offering superb scope for career progression.
