Staff or Contract Position

Our Client, Major International offshore contractors in the oil and gas industry, active in Offshore Transportation and Installation, Pipeline and Subsea Construction, Pipeline Design and Subsea Technology, are seeking A METALLURGIST / CORROSION ENGINEER to assist with Projects in the Engineering & Operations Depart at their UK Head Offices in Surrey.

To work in the following technology areas:
Material selection of oil & gas subsea facilities, specification writing for materials and system components, pipeline and subsea coating selection and specification technical support to procurement of items in the categories above.
Technical review of manufacturing and quality documentation.
It would also be beneficial if the candidate could perform cathodic protection of offshore facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
This is a position for a well-qualified metallurgist, materials scientist or corrosion engineer with a clear interest in the above areas.

· BSc in Metallurgy or Materials Science essential (MSc in Corrosion Science desirable)
· Some prior experience of similar work in the offshore oil & gas industry would be an advantage but this is not essential.

Some training will be provided, both on the job and externally.
