Job Description
Our client is looking for a Business Unit Leader to be based in the UK on a Staff basis.

Key Accountabilities
Governance/Operations
Responsible for ensuring that the bases under area of jurisdiction deliver the service levels required in execution of the business operation as co-ordinated by the operation cell and that the appropriate level of resources are maintained to allow for the effective completion of the plan.
Holds overall accountability for the legal safe and efficient delivery of the flying schedule ensuring Customer requirements are met.
Establishes and leads local service teams during the execution of the business.
Negotiates and manages the various flying schedules and change proposals within the existing customer contracts balancing revenue cost and deliverability.
Negotiates Service Level Agreements with the designated client contact points.
Takes the lead role on specific projects and executes these to the stated standard/timetable.
Develops relationships with designated client contact points in relation to existing business and future commercial opportunities and relaying this information back to the Commercial

Department.
Ensure full understanding and compliance with the corporate Contract Management Process.
Fulfils other duties as may reasonably be required by the Organisation in line with the incumbents skills knowledge abilities and personal development opportunities.

Finance/Budgets
Responsible for proactive liaison with the Commercial Department functional leaders to develop and agree operations budget for presentation to Board of Directors.
Full accountability for expenditure against that budget.
Regularly reviews the budget and control process.
During budget year will actively involve the Commercial Department and Functional leaders in monthly budgetary/contractual review and control processes ensuring appropriate standards are maintained and that stated business deliverables are met and where necessary any budget deviations are highlighted understood and are managed with agreed interventions
Ensures that any non forecasted expenditure is clearly identified via a robust business planning philosophy and all required approvals are sought and granted in advance of such expenditure being incurred.
Ensures that any unbudgeted expenditure is clearly identified and approved as necessary.
Following acceptance/finalisation of budget has full accountability for expenditure against that budget.
Holds financial authority as detailed in the Purchasing Authority Document or any document published fro the same purpose by the Business Information Department. Responsible for ensuring that the financial authority levels set for this position are not exceeded and also that financial authority levels set for any subordinate positions are not exceeded. This document will be updated from time to time and it is the responsibility of the incumbent to ensure compliance with any amendments to financial approval levels.

Core Competencies/Technical Requirements
Must meet requirements for AOC Accountable Manager post.
Strong financial acumen.
Comprehensive understanding of key business drivers from both an operational and commercial perspective.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to operate at all levels within the business and externally.
Preferably educated to degree level with a good numeric/analytical component.
Effective leadership and management skills.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsible for ensuring that all activities comply with applicable Health and Safety and Environmental Legislation and that personnel are not subjected to situations of unacceptable risk.

General
Main functions may include some or all of the following:
Extremely capable with PC/software packages and tools.
Essential to travel on an unrestricted basis within Europe.
