Business Development Executive

Location: Newcastle

Salary: TBC

Duration: Permanent

The role
As a Business Development Executive, your role is designed to make a substantial contribution to the growth and success of the company through the effective identification and development of new and profitable business relationships. You will be given a structured training programme, learning new skills and working alongside the account management and business development teams. You will be involved in regular client visits, establishing new business through both warm and cold leads, attending sales appointments and liaising with identified prospects, maximising every opportunity to ensure the longevity of client relationships.

This role will involve UK-wide travel.

Your profile
You will be outgoing, motivated, proactive and confident with a strong professional image, a sound understanding of technology and excellent commercial awareness. You will play an active role in the continued development and growth of our business through your skills and experience. You will have:

  • An enthusiastic, proactive and tenacious attitude towards work
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A target driven approach with the ability to work to strict deadlines
  • The ability to work unsupervised as well as within a team
  • Previous consultative sales experience as an advantage, but not essential.

Purposes and Objectives
To make a substantial contribution to the growth and success of The WorkCast Corporation through the effective identification and development of new profitable business relationships.

Main Duties

  • Ensure that monthly and quarterly new business targets are met.
  • Identify, appraise and pursue new business opportunities in current and new industry sectors.
  • Establish new business relationships through contact via telephone, email and direct mail to both cold and warm leads.
  • Undertake new business pitches and online sales presentations to potential clients and negotiate commercial agreements.
  • Build up a database of suitable leads and potential new business contacts.
  • Request and respond to tender documents and RFIs to generate new business opportunities.
  • Conduct suitable research of markets, clients, competing products and competitor organisations.
  • Develop robust and accurate proposal and contract documentation as required.
  • Ensure work always follows our company strapline Delivering Collaboration
  • Undertake additional duties as requested by the Internal Sales Manager
