Job Description
Our Client has a vacancy for a Business Analyst, based in Aberdeen. This is a permanent position.
As Business Analyst, your responsibilities will include the following:
Comprehensive and accurate economic evaluations in respect to Exploration, Development and Operations projects, especially in support of incremental investments (e.g. AFE and Finance Memoranda approvals).
Evaluation of robustness of such projects under various scenarios, including sensitivity analysis, in order to identify and quantify key risks and value drivers.
Collation/ preparation of all Business Plan data and subsequent analysis.
Liaising with relevant personnel to ensure consistency and accuracy of technical and commercial data and assumptions used for economic evaluation.
Preparation of economic evaluation presentations and delivery of recommendations to management.
In addition to E3Cash economic evaluation package as the primary tool, as and when required, develop fit for purpose economic models to reflect commercial and fiscal terms of each asset, and any potential synergies between assets.
Assistance in the preparation of ceiling test economic data necessary for reserve reporting/booking.
Prepare subsequent "life of field" economic analysis.
Provision of comparative analysis between company, 3rd party, and public domain data (where appropriate) in order to identify value gaps.
Working with the Tax group to analyse, develop and implement tax and royalty planning opportunities.
Experience/Qualifications:
Finance or Engineering degree with some experience preferably in oil and gas.
Excellent computing skills - advance spreadsheet modelling skills and an experience in using economic evaluation application such as Palantir E3 or similar.
Enjoys working in a multi-discipline environment, often to demanding deadlines.
Strong investigative and analytical background.
Strong interpersonal/communication skills, proactive/uses own initiative.
