Strategic procurement professional required for a global oil and gas operator. Permanent role, Qatar based. COMPREHENSIVE EX - PAT PACKAGE AVAILABLE.

Our client is the leading oil producer offshore Qatar and a recognized pioneer in oil development and production techniques.

  • The client is centralizing the Procurement process and wishes to further strengthen the current Procurement team. Therefore we are looking for professional, result driven strategic buyers to be part of our vision and deliver on our objectives.
  • We are looking for upstream experienced team players with mercantile and technical flair, people skills, persistence and who, with a smile, will position the Procurement team as a sought after - value adding partner.

The Position:

  • The Purchase & Procurement Department is responsible for conducting material tenders for the client in close cooperation with technical, quality and legal stakeholders.
  • The position holder will play an active part in analysis and application of spend data, as a contributor for the tender pipeline.

Education and Experience

  • Master degree / Diploma in Purchase/Sales or other relevant commercial education.
  • Superior and full scale practical experience with purchase and procurement in the Upstream Oil & Gas Industry (>15 years proven experience)
  • Proven negotiation experience as well as proven knowledge of the applicable laws and regulations.
  • Experience from working in a multi-national - multicultural society is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies
  • State-of-the-art knowledge of Purchase and Procurement scope and processes in the Upstream Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Excellent communications skills combined with fluent English in speech and in writing
  • Strong negotiation skills and a mercantile understanding of business.
  • Strong diplomatic and Trouble shooting skills
  • Strong analytical skills combined with a structured approach to complex matters.
  • A structured, energetic, honest and ambitious person able to inspire trust.
