Job Description

Overview:

The role is to work as part of a small team to provide Cost Management Support to the Clients North Sea team .This will involve close liaison with the Renewals Resources team.

Job Description:

Work with Team Lead to assist in Risk analysis of budgets to ensure a targeted and appropriate level of support is given to all areas and particularly higher risk areas.

Work with back office team to ensure costs are accurately recorded and analysed and commitment information is available.

Work closely with Team Leads to report timewriting accurately.

Ensure that all variances from previous forecast and budget are documented for MI reporting purposes.

Attend cost review meetings with the Team Lead for own areas.

Assist in annual budget process.

Support the Controllers and Financial analysts

Other activities including reviewing accrual levels Tax support ad hoc queries CI and Process Improvement retention of asset/business knowledge etc.



Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will be a part - qualified accountant with industry experience or alternatively may have significant depth of experience in the oil industry and/or cost management.

Good team player

Good organisational skills

Sound commercial awareness.

Self- starter.

Good analytical approach problem solver and determined.

Excellent written & verbal communication skills together with strong interpersonal skills with ability to articulate complex business outcomes and drivers.

Knowledge of SAP and other accounting systems.

Proactive approach to issue ownership and resolution and ability to recognise when issues should be escalated.

Ability to build and develop excellent client and client and offshore working relationships.
