Job Title: Asset Policy Engineer Location: Warwick Salary: 30-40k Benefits Company: An international electricity and gas company ranked 199th in the worlds largest companies list Forbes 2006 Luxurious working environment with subsidised restaurant onsite gym doctor and dentist Role: To establish direct challenge review and update technical and asset management policy and technology direction The main focus of this role is in the protection control communications substation automation metering and monitoring systems and plant interfacing To establish challenge review and update technical policy Develop technical specifications and provide support and guidance to implementers Manage a portfolio of R&D projects supporting development of technical policies Represent company on standards bodies IEC IEEE and other industry bodies Risk assessments of planned strategies Manage & develop asset replacement policies Essential Education & Experience Degree equivalent in engineering scientific or numerical subject working towards professional membership is preferred A strong understanding of the issues surrounding asset management processes in a transferable industry An understanding of protection principles protection settings and their impact on transmission Recognised as a technical authority in asset policy in the areas of protection control automation & metering Experience with interfacing with equipment suppliers manufacturers and service providers Proven experience in managing projects involving R&D service providers Fircroft is a leading provider of technical recruitment solutions to a number of specialist industries active in over 40 countries worldwide.
