This position is not a CAD or deign position, however that should be your background

Support/Assist the Closeout Co-ordinator in Closeout department activities.

Cover for Closeout Co-ordinator during their absence (holidays/sickness).

Produce as building deliverables for inclusion in closeout workpacks.


Main Duties:

  • Assist and support Close Out coordinator with all aspects of the close out function.
  • Prepare as built drawings and documents using the appropriate software.
  • Drawings/Documents will be across all disciplines.
  • Be proficient in the use of CAD software.
  • Be knowledgeable of corporate, project and client procedures relating to close out.
  • Ensure Document Management System is maintained to current procedures.
  • Participate in tuition and guidance of close out trainees e.g. designers/CAD Operators technical and clerical assistants.
  • Ensure deliverables are completed within budget and time schedule.
  • Be conversant with and ensure compliance with current standards and procedures, e.g. CAD draughting, PED, Weight Control, Maintenance Management, Vendor Information, SCE, Safety Case, and Data Imputing.
  • Participate in the development of CAD systems.
  • Keep abreast of new developments and review new and improved types of materials and equipment. Keep up-to-date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to the scope of the discipline.
  • Immediately inform the Closeout Co-ordinator of any factors which are liable to affect manhours and/or the completion of deliverables.
  • Ensure that no work outside the original scope is undertaken without approval from the Closeout Co-ordinator.
  • Refer any changes which will require additional work and manhours to the Closeout Co-ordinator.
  • Ensure all relevant specifications, codes, standards and procedures and technical instructions from engineering are being correctly applied.
  • Liaise and co-operate with other disciplines and ensure that requests/instructions are confirmed in writing.


Education/Qualifications:

  • Instrument or Electrical HNC or equivalent
  • Instrument or Electrical HND or equivalent

  • Training/Skills:

  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Microstation
  • BOSIET Offshore survival certification
  • Current offshore medical certificate

  • Experience:

  • Previous experience of working within a close-out environment
  • Relevant experience in an petrochemical engineering industry,
  • Experience of offshore / onshore site survey practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of materials used within the discipline.
  • Sound knowledge of discipline design principles
  • Sufficient post-qualification experience to be considered as possessing an adequate working knowledge of their discipline.
  • Experience within the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.
