Job Description
Reporting line to Divisional Manager - Brownfield Projects and functionally to Head of Engineering, the Manager, - Aberdeen is responsible for securing and managing engineering and project work in support of our ongoing and future drilling operations in the UKCS area plus suitable process plant type project work for other UKCS organisations. The Manager, - Aberdeen is accountable for the business performance of the department and the setting of strategy in line with the company's strategic goals in the Aberdeen area of operations

a) Preparation and delivery of the annual Aberdeen engineering budget and business plan

b) Ensure the annual Aberdeen business plan meets the company's strategic goals in the UKCS

c) Ensure the development and implementation of Company policy, procedures and guidelines for the mitigation of all risks (e.g. Commercial, HSEQ, IT etc)

d) Ensure that all recruitment and competence is executed and demonstrated in accordance with Company engineering procedures

e) Ensure that Aberdeen interfaces and operates with other Company functions to the best advantage for the Company

f) Carry out regular client liaison and obtain performance feedback for completed works

g) Develop an appropriate Aberdeen engineering organisation structure in association with the Head of Engineering and Head of Projects and ensure personnel are fully informed of their individual responsibilities

h) Ensure engineering personnel are appropriately mentored, supervised and trained

i) Ensure implementation of Company management control and project reporting systems

j) Ensure the development and implementation of Company's performance improvement process (including KPI's)

k) Ensure the implementation of Company's management system and processes

Interface with other parts of the organisation, to achieve best use of resources and written guidelines set by management

A formal qualification to degree level (preferably in a technical subject) and/or experience at a senior level in project Management. The successful applicant should be practical and flexible, but assertive and tenacious. The position will require work to a very high standard and with the minimum of direction. The position will require a high degree of coaching and mentoring skills in order to develop the Project Managers and project Engineers across the group businesses. Must be willing to travel overseas and offshore as required
