Job Title: POWER CONTROL UMBILICAL & VSD ENGINEER - OIL SUPERMAJOR
Location: Norway
Salary and Benefits: Competitive Contractor Day Rate
Duration: 12 Month Renewable
Our Client:
Our client is an Oil and Gas Supermajor with worldwide Exploration and Production activities.
The Role:
Working closely with the MPP Engineer and Lead MPP Engineer the MPP Power Control Umbilical and VSD Engineer will be responsible for the supervision of Contractors work related to delivery of the topside Variable Speed Drives VSD Power Control Umbilical power flow analysis MPP electrical equipment sizing and operational requirement all in accordance with the Contract requirements.
It will include the supervision of the engineering procurement fabrication testing delivery FPSO integration and commissioning. Perform other work related to the MPP System as directed by the Lead MPP Engineer and Systems Lead Engineer.
Essential skills and Qualifications:
Relevant degree in a electrical engineering discipline or equivalent college education
5 to 10 years on major Oil & Gas projects with excellent technical and practical knowledge of Variable Speed Drive VSD Power & Control Umbilical Subsea Motors and Subsea High Voltage Connectors in terms of design procurement fabrication testing and installation activities.
Candidate shall also have experience with subsea rotating machinery. Clear commitment to QA and HSE. Frequent missions to subcontractor and vendor facilities are to be anticipated both in Europe and outside.
