Senior Corrosion Engineer -
Plan produce review and approve as applicable company specifications and related technical documents covering all materials and corrosion mitigation aspects associated with construction and installation of subsea structures/ pipeline systems
Review client generated specifications and related documents pertaining to materials and corrosion mitigation systems and provide technical qualifications where required in support of project activities.
Review and approve contractor/subcontractor/ vendor procedures relating to coating application and material use.
Provide specialist technical support to projects and other disciplines within the company with regard to materials selection and corrosion mitigation; provide technical solution of issues within discipline maintain awareness of recognised industry codes and standards relevant to corrosion and materials discipline eg ISO 8501 DNV RP-401 ISO 12944 EEMUA 194 Norsok etc. providing advice and guidance on interpretation and use where appropriate
Train and mentor Junior and Graduate engineers
Qualifications and Education
A degree in chemistry metallurgy materials science or a related engineering subject
Commitment to maintaining personal CPD is desirable.
Post graduate qualification in corrosion science/engineering is desirable; other qualifications may be considered dependent on experience.
Experience:
It is essential that the candidate has extensive relevant experience within the Engineering discipline some of which should be within oil & gas or related sectors.
Experience in performing CP design for pipelines and Subsea installations is essential.
Experience in application of corrosion protection and insulation coating including field joint coating systems is essential.
Knowledge:
Understanding of corrosion processes in offshore environment and internal pipeline systems is essential
