Contract manager Urgently needed to work for a Global leader in providing technology and solutions to the Energy and Power market.
The Deputy General Manager will be responsible for the construction of the offshore substation for of a new HVDC link between an offshore windfarm (North Sea) and the German grid. The successful candidate should have experience in offshore construction projects either in the Energy sector or the Oil and Gas sector.
The successful candidate should have experience with site construction supervision, construction management and construction management in support to the General Site Manager.
The Deputy General Site Manager will be responsible for operational planning and control of construction and full commissioning responsibility to handover to the client. In this context, he is responsible for the achievement of tangible, schedule and cost objectives within the framework of the construction.
Key experience and responsibilities:
- Several years experience in construction and commissioning of offshore platforms for oil and gas and offshore wind energy
- Several years experience in engineering, installation and commissioning of the plant, preferably in the field of marine engineering, shipbuilding, electrical engineering, process engineering
- Management experience in large projects as a project manager or site manager
- Offshore experience by commissioning or operation of offshore platforms
- Planning and organising of Dock Yard management teams
- Planning and organisation of all construction and commissioning of offshore activities, including preparation and implementation of offshore logistics
- Assessing and evaluating the current situation of the construction schedule
- Coordination and harmonisation of the participating partners such as construction and shipyard equipment companies
- Definition of the construction program, including the scheduling
- Assessment and evaluation of the situation in the health, safety and environmental protection and adopt measures
- Assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of the prescribed quality assurance systems of participating in the project partners such as shipyard and equipment companies and interpretation of the results for the determination of measures and their implementation / enforcement of on-site

• Good knowledge of the claim and risk management, contract management and quality
• Proficient in the use of MS Office applications and MS Project
• Knowledge of safety regulations and standards DNV, NORSOK, GL, etc.
• Willingness to travel
You will be the direct disciplinary superior and manager for up to 20 people but will be responsible for up to 300 employees as well as advising the superior general site manager.
Its a fantastic opportunity with a market leading Energy EPC which will give you direct experience working on energy integration and HVDC projects.
The contract duration is 18 months.
