Job Description

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Environmental Advisor (Project Design Interface) for 1-2 year project. Candidates must have a Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or equivalent and must have 10 years plus experience in environmental engineering for plant / refinery operations.

Technical skills required

Expertise in the design, implementation and operations of environmental management / compliance systems for large processing hydrocarbon facilities

Development of business unit environmental business plans

Environmental design and management of flare systems, wastewater treatment facilities, solid waste generation / disposal, incineration and flare systems including minimization strategies

Organizational Management/Supervision

Hazop Leader

Significant incident investigation leader

Coordination of periodic major environmental studies

Preparation of environment compliance reports for govt. and stakeholders

Purpose of the job

Coordinate / provide operations input into the design and implementation of environmental management systems, facilities and plans that meet the requirement and deliver on obligations detailed in the PNG LNG Environmental Impact Statement, the environment permit(s), clients environmental standards and meet the requirements for efficient, cost effective operations. Environment management is to address:

- flare systems

- wastewater treatment facilities

- solid waste generation / disposal

- incinerator systems

- landfill

- recycling opportunities

- operations laboratory and third-party testing programs

- potential impact on surrounding communities including minimization strategies

- Development of Oil Spill Response capability

Coordinate and facilitate preparation of regulator and stakeholder environmental compliance plan reports

Support regulator engagement and management of expectations.

Development of compliance instruction to comply with Laws and Regulations assigned to the SHE function and advice other functions as to the completeness of instruction which they develop to meet their own compliance obligations
