Pipeline Corrosion Integrity Engineer

This position contributes significantly to achieve and fulfil our clients set objectives for their long-term sustainable business.

Description of the vacant position
The vacant position as Pipeline Corrosion Integrity Engineer resides in our Technical Department in the department “Pipelines”, where design, integrity, lifetime extension, brown field projects, green field projects and internal pipeline inspection is looked after by a small dedicated group of 5 highly qualified engineers. For the Pipeline Corrosion Integrity Engineer, the work will primarily be for existing facilities which have been operating satisfactorily for many years, however all the facilities will require a life time extension in order to be operated in a safe and efficient manner until year 2042 where the concession is ending, and pipeline integrity assessment and management is essential to unlock additional potential from the existing pipeline grid in the years to come.

You should have skills in:
assessing, identifying & planning the corrosion inhibition needs on the existing facilities for the offshore pipeline systems.
identification, assessment and validation of established measures of internal pipeline corrosion issues.
pipeline protection against corrosion of materials / alloys / compositions.

Responsibilities and qualifications include, but are not limited to:
Establish and drive the corrosion control schemes and management strategies for Company’s offshore pipeline grid.
Further develop and enhance Company’s sub sea pipelines asset integrity programmes and strategy for Company’s infrastructure and environment.
Provide engineering expertise including, but not limited to: risk ranking of offshore pipeline systems and analysis, and identification of elements driving risk scores based on chemical compositions.
Assess and compile data from sampling programmes for risk ranking of pipeline grid
Carry out corrosion risk assessments and risk ranking for offshore pipelines.
Provide corrosion consulting services to the assets on pipeline integrity.
Deliver technical reports to the assets on programmes of work in the internal pipeline corrosion area.
Supervise the work of internal pipeline inspection corrosion engineers.
Provide corrosion input into failure investigations carried out by others.
Present high level risk ranking overviews and estimated corrosion growth reports to asset management teams.
Be responsible and accountable for preparing pipeline corrosion integrity engineering reports on a yearly basis of the entire offshore pipeline grid for verification by third party.
Be responsible and accountable for identifying and validating Company’s future internal intelligent pipeline inspections of the pipeline grid.
A solid theoretical background (BSC or MSC) in the above-mentioned areas is essential.
The job requires good communication skills in English and a candidate with strong report writing skills in English will be preferred.
Occasional travel, both onshore and offshore, is part of the job.
