Job Description
A European Renewable Energy organisation requires a QC Corrosion Inspector for their offshore wind farm projects to be based in Germany. The company dedicates themselves to generating energy out of wind, biomass and biogas. Their unit is also committed to the development of emerging technologies such as PV, geothermal and wave energy. The experienced QC Corrosion Inspector will report into the Packaging Manager the core tasks will be evaluation of corrosion protected design, evaluation of process capability for corrosion protection and the execution of corrosion inspections. Requirements Degree in relevant engineering discipline, <web address removed>, steel construction, industrial engineering. Quality Control education e.g. Auditor Certificate , Knowledge of manufacturing processes and state of the art manufacturing equipment, test equipment and the acetate test facilities. Proven knowledge about marine corrosion protection, design principals, relevant ISO-BS- SIS-, SSPC SP-, NACE-, GB- standards, NORSOK Norm, supplier market. Responsibilities Review of technical specification for corrosion protection Process audit in manufacturing facilities, definition of measures and control of follow up Inspection of prepared subjects for coating e.g. surface roughness and dust/ chloride contamination Inspection during coating process, e.g. material inspection, equipment inspection and thickness wet/dry Review of repair instructions Inspection of repair areas Final inspection in different location manufacturing, assembly, commissioning, Hand over, Rework Documentation of Inspection results in the owners document management system Handover of project knowledge e.g. in Lessons Learned workshops or focus groups Consulting for tender documents corrosion protection Required skills: More than 3 years project experience in marine environment. More than one year experience in construction design or more than one year in a leading role in a marine manufacturing functions. At least 5 year experience as corrosion protection inspector. optional leading a small team of inspectors References: one project in a Quality Control function and one reference in a function as engineer Language skill Well spoken and written English with the addition of German Language skills being considered to be advantageous.
