Our client is an international energy services company operating in engineering & production facilities, well support and gas turbine services. Employing over 28,000 personnel worldwide they operate in 50 countries.
They are currently recruiting for the position of Head of Discipline Operations, based in Aberdeen.
Job Description
- Establish and maintain Operations Management System (OMS) undertake role of process owner for Production, Marine and Services
- Establish and maintain PO process and policy
- Establish and maintain PO Strategy, plan & assure effective application
- Embed PO process at all levels of Asset Operations business
- Facilitate effective education and awareness of PO across Asset Operations
- Test the effectiveness of PO management arrangements in place
- Direct internal audits toward PO areas of concern
- Actively participate in relevant investigations and audit programs
- Establish PO as a standing item on Asset operations agenda
- Establish and maintain strong working relationship with Operations Managers and asset teams
- Ensure Asset Operations management is well informed about PO management issues
- Establish and maintain strong links with relevant external bodies and internal functions
- Manage and assure delivery of appropriate PO reporting, internally
- Monitor, evaluate and challenge the organisation's success in managing PO
- Establish and implement recruitment criteria and succession plans for all staff under area of responsibility
- Establish and implement Competence Criteria, actively support and participate in appraisals and identification of training requirements
- Ensure effectiveness of 'people development' and actively seek to demonstrate that the development of those people has improved the performance of the organisation, teams and individuals
- Seek out and exploit the importation of good practice across industry to maintain competitiveness. Identify and develop relations with relevant 3rd parties, customer groups and PO community, personally promoting an improvement culture in PO
- Develop and propose for approval to line manager annual budget
- Deliver and support effective budget management against agreed budgets and targets
Skills & Experience
- Considerable and relevant experience in an Offshore Oil and Gas environment
- Demonstrable and appropriate level of knowledge of Production, Marine and Services management processes
- Demonstrable and appropriate level of knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation, codes and technical standards their implications on the business and management there of (all asset types)
- Demonstrable and appropriate level of knowledge in work scope and boundary interfaces, implications, management and planning and experience in leading investigations and application of Root Cause Analysis tools, techniques, finding analysis, reporting and close out
- Demonstrable and appropriate level of knowledge and experience of managing and developing PO personnel in line with organisations objectives and business drivers
- Ability to establish, agree and manage and deliver on multiple business and personnel objectives
- Keen business and commercial acumen
This is a permanent position.
