Job Description
The purpose of this role is to create repair schemes and processes using standards, technologies and methods that deliver product excellence and robust and differentiating solutions to meet the business objectives of Quality, Cost and Delivery.
Develop overhaul procedures based on available technical data, re-engineering, engine operation, customer requirements and standard practices.
Product manual development based on developed process.
Special tool and test apparatus development, procurement and/or construction.
Re-engineering of required replacement details and/or parts consumed in the developed repair / overhaul process.
First article overhaul.
Continual improvement of products and processes to optimise on Quality, Cost and Delivery.
Training of shop personnel against developed processes.
Maintain accurate records of task progress and ensuring all individuals are informed.
Review and perform product manual change requests for all products.
Support Operations on technical issues.
Write customer required engineering reports.
Any other duties as deemed necessary by the S&TS Site Engineering Leader.
Experience
Demonstrated experience in the following:
Gas turbines (preferred) or aerospace industry
Fuel systems / Fuel nozzles / Burners
With hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical equipment
MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and CAD software (preferably AutoCAD Inventor or Pro-Engineer)
In identifying and defining technical problems and propose solutions within the business unit.
In writing technical reports.
In presenting to a project team, customer and management.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and a minimum of 2 years work related training with demonstration of analytical and problem solving skills OR an HND/AS degree in an engineering discipline and a minimum of 5 years work related training with demonstration of analytical and problem solving skills. Alternatively, extensive experience and job knowledge will be considered for those candidates that are non-degree’d.
