Job Description
Our Client requires an Environmental Practice Leader to go out to South Africa and develop a profitable environmental business in the sub-Saharan region and help position them for pull-through engineering projects with key resource clients.
General
Manage all aspects of the Environmental business within the region for maximum performance providing leadership and strategic vision to all staff in the practice. Develop close working relationships with JV partners and environment team colleagues throughout the EA region in order to provide a full-range multi-D capability to clients in the region. Ensure that the consulting services meet any applicable statutory and regulatory requirements and that all risks and liabilities are managed according to the risk management systems and procedures. Strategy Develop, communicate and implement a vision for the environmental business in sub-Saharan Africa In conjunction with the Regional Environment Director; develop, communicate and implement a regional strategy to build the environmental business in our chosen markets. Business development Lead the business development activities for the practice to ensure there is sufficient, on-strategy BD activity to support the practice. Assume responsibility for client relationship management activities at designated key clients and steward the development of valuable key account management plans throughout the practice Establish a regional network with its clients and potential clients, to support the growth of the consulting practice in the region. Direct the development of marketing materials that support and sell the consultancy practice Identify and actively pursue consultancy prospects within the region that align with their global, regional and location specific strategies. Use consulting assignments to identify and position them for potential project ‘pull through’. Develop and maintain strong relationships with its clients and potential clients. Achieve its client’s needs by accessing global and regional expertise through Workshare. Human resources Build, develop and manage the environmental practice in Sub-Saharan Africa to complement the skills and capabilities of the regional environmental team and JV partners. Motivate and manage the performance of the team. Provide local office leads with management support and technical leadership.
