An opportunity has arisen for a Cost Engineer to join this leading Oil & Gas Exploration and Production Company.

Your main duties will be to maintain accurate well cost accounting records relating to the company's operations in Ghana and to coach and mentor local staff.

Key responsibilities:

* Implement and maintain a complete Well Cost accounting procedure for the company's well engineering operations in Ghana.

* Prepare daily and cumulative Well Cost estimates for the well Engineering group.

* Ensure estimates are updated for actual figures.

* Prepare AFE versus Actual comparisons with variance reporting.

* Provide VOWD accruals for the Finance group at month end.

* Prepare Final cost estimates for completed wells and ensure timely close-out of AFEs.

* Reconcile final costs estimates with General Ledger actuals.

* Accurate coding of all invoices in accordance with Ghana coding definitions.

* Provide additional coding support and explanations if appropriate.

* Contract compliance of all invoices.

* Ensure that the company's record keeping complies with the clients policy and that well cost files are of a sufficient standard to pass a cost recovery audit.

* Final well reconciliations with EOWRs.

* Develop/Train and mentor local staff.

Skills and Qualifications:

* Extensive knowledge of Inventory & Materials accounting.

* Extensive experience in offshore well engineering operations.

* Excellent communicator

* A degree or qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, CA)
