Position: Senior Electrical Engineer

KMC International Resource’s client, a leading consultancy are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join them in theirLondon offices. Their client base spans from major oil and gas through to EPCs and independents and involves some travel abroad.

The right candidate will have a strong technical ability within Electrical engineering and doesn’t necessarily have to come from and oil and gas background but looking to move into the energy arena.

You will have a minimum of 7- 10 years experience.

Scope of Work:

Experience of the following in theUKor Internationally.

• Demonstrating a clear understanding of HV/MV/LV power distribution systems, including emergency power supply systems,
• Checking of Detail Engineer designs and calculations,
• Develop the DPT standard ‘Electrical Design Basis‘ to meet the specific requirements of the project,
• Develop the ‘Project Load List’ to meet the specific requirements of the project,
• Produce the Electrical ‘Single Line Diagram’ to meet the specific requirements of the project,
• A working knowledge of Auto-CADD is preferable,
• Be familiar with Un-interruptible Power Supply systems,
• Be familiar with motor ‘soft start’ and variable speed control systems,
• Working knowledge of motor reacceleration systems,
• Working knowledge of power factor correction systems,
• API 500/505 and IEC Hazardous Area Drawings and able to produce same,
• Be able to confidently offer sound advice to Client Electrical Engineers on Technical matters,
• Demonstrate a clear and methodical approach to organising and executing the electrical engineering scope of work,

A basic knowledge of instrumentation would be an advantage as this role requires review of both Electrical and Instrumentation designs. Some field experienced would be a plus.

Qualifications

• Preferably hold relevant Electrical Engineering degree or HNC / HND
• Minimum of 7-10 years experience
• Chartered Engineer is a plus
