Job Purpose

Provides technical advice, coaching and mentoring to Instrument and Controls (I&C) Engineers as well as Control Systems Engineers.

Key Result Areas

• 
  Improves the overall level of technical expertise and business knowledge of engineers and coaches and mentors less experienced engineering staff.
• Assist in setting and maintaining corporate standards and procedures in I&C and Control Systems engineering, including Systems Life Cycle Management, Systems Administration Policies, Instrumentation reliability, and Management-of-change. Keeps abreast of latest developments and advances in relevant technology and international standards.
• Supervises designs and implementation of non-routine critical applications. Coordinates with plant Operations and adheres to SHE policies, suggests improvements where applicable.
• Developing or up-dating RasGas specification and standards in order to maintain RasGas documents in line with industry and new technologies.
• Ensure management and operation of the control systems is maintained.
• Ensure expert technical advice and support on the design, specifications, construction and modification of I&C systems, vendor and contractor support, vendor identification, procurement strategies, and cost estimates are applied and available all the time.

Knowledge Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Instrument and Controls Engineering Degree or equivalent.
• Master’s Degree in Business Administration
• Twenty (20) years of working experience with the majority gained in the Oil&Gas industry.
