Our client is an Aberdeen based Operator and is looking to recruit for the following position
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the provision of electrical discipline specific support, solutions and resolution of problems to maximize production whilst ensuring that safe and reliable operation of the facilities is in accordance with legislative requirements, and other relevant standards and Clients values.
Responsibilities and Tasks
The right candidate will have a strong focus on delivering high quality work and will be capable of working independently as well as being part of a team.
Provision of day-to-day electrical engineering support to the offshore installations. Investigation and rectification of electrical equipment faults, including offshore participation.
Set technical direction including analysis of technical data and preparing/ presenting recommendations for improvement.
Management of third party vendor mobilizations for discipline specific work tasks.
Project management of minor modifications. Definition of functional requirements and option selection for upgrades and modifications.
Provision of discipline specific support to the Client Projects team for design verification and approval as well as being project sponsor for electrical projects.
Participating in Operations, Maintenance and Shut-Down Planning.
Budget Planning for Electrical Discipline Opex expenditure.
Establishing and fostering good relations with onshore and offshore staff as well as external parties such as relevant Authorities and sub-contractors.
Participating actively on audits and in equipment failure investigations.
In accordance with level of authority the Electrical Engineer shall
Provide electrical discipline advice to the organisation.
Manage expenditure associated with departmental budget.
A degree in an engineering discipline and preferably holding or working towards chartered status.
Relevant experience in an operational Electrical Engineering role supporting offshore installations.
Knowledge of generic engineering, associated technical standards, processes and relevant legislation.
Experience in several of the following: Operation, maintenance and control of HV motors and generators, electrical protection of generators and distribution systems, power management systems, UPS, trouble shooting of electrical defects, etc.
Experience of project management including budget preparation, planning and cost control.
Experience in communication and documentation as part of a distributed onshore and offshore team.
Demonstrate familiarity with relevant UK Safety Case, HSE requirements together with National codes and standards.
Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner.
