Uhde Shedden now has an outstanding career opportunity for a Senior Cost Estimator based in our head office Melbourne. Combining your strong safety focus with your proven Project Cost Estimating experience, you will form part of a team working on specific projects & participate in all elements of Cost Estimating.

Your responsibilities will include:

To lead the preparation of capital cost estimates for the company's bidding and proposals process in line with AACE standards, to summarise and cost the job's estimates to provide the corporate management with a bottom line tendering price. The company also carries out estimates to various levels of detail for a range of clients for which the Senior Cost estimator will be responsible.
Take a lead role in risk evaluation of the estimate to highlight to management areas of concern and recommend strategies and contingencies. Have a lead role in the development of database estimating package development within the estimating group to standardise and provide consistency and be responsible for the preparation of all tendering schedule of rates and maintain a database of prices for equipment, materials and contracts.
To assist major projects by price checking all the job's scope change orders and scope change requests, and where significant preparing the variation price. To review the project estimate, prior to the commencement of the project control, and in co-operation with the Project Manage and Discipline Lead to develop the project control budget together with any additional cost monitoring system and documentation.
The Senior Cost Estimator may be requested to assist in the review to monitor cost trend, and forecast projections, to alert the Project Manager, the project Controls Manager and other responsible persons of any adverse trends.
To be successful in this role candidates will preferably be tertiary qualified, come from the Oil & Gas industry with extensive experience in standard Cost Estimating packages
