Principal Materials & Corrosion Engineer

THE COMPANY

Our client is a pipeline and subsea engineering company based in the South East. Due to organic and new contract awards a vacancy exists for a Principal Materials & Corrosion Engineer.

THE POSITION

You will responsible for (but not limited to):

Materials selection for green field design and brown field modifications;

Corrosion assessment and management;

Coating selection and rectification;

Prepare reports, datasheets and specifications to client’s requirements;

Maintenance of the Installation Corrosion Monitoring and Mitigation policies;

Ensure that material failure investigation and root cause analysis are carried out where considered necessary and that any implication with respect to integrity is reported accordingly;

THE CANDIDATE

You will hold a relevant engineering degree and possess considerable experience in corrosion and metallurgy relating the offshore industry is a must for this role. Specific experience in the subsea sector would be seen as an advantage for this role i.e. subsea systems, structures, umbilical’s or controls.

Demonstrable experience in line management and the supervision of junior engineers is required for this role.

Analysis experience in the following is required: Mathcad, Abaqus, Olga or Orcaflex.

This position is offered on a long term contract or permanent staff basis.
