The Company:
The client is a unique and sustainable Canadian integrated energy company. This opportunity is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents, first consideration will be given to residents of Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Role:
The Corrosion & Materials Engineer works within the Asset Integrity Team and performs a support role for corrosion and inspection related activities for the Floating, Production, Storage & Offloading operation. This role works closely with others within the Integrity Team as well as Operations and Engineering to proactively plan and execute the Asset Integrity Program.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Monitoring of corrosion probe data and process data to assess corrosion activity and chemical efficiency.
Provide technical support for day to day maintenance of corrosion protection systems and coatings.
Performing/supporting failure analysis to determine root cause of failures.
Trending and analysis of Integrity/Inspection data, review of field inspection data to ensure corrosion mechanisms are identified.
Manage the cathodic protection systems (impressed current, resistor controlled and sacrificial).
Supporting the development of Pressure Equipment Inspection strategies and plans.
Providing technical assistance on;
o Materials and Corrosion related topics
o Inspection techniques and applications
Provide input to process, materials and design reviews to minimize corrosion/materials integrity threats.
Working with Operations and Engineering staff in a team environment to identify priorities, plan and execute work.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
B. Eng. Or Post Secondary diploma in Materials, Chemical Technology or NACE Corrosion Technologist Certification
Specific experience in fixed and floating production systems, topsides, turret and marine vessel facilities and systems and offshore operations support is preferential
Minimum five (10) year experience in facilities engineering, and demonstrated experience in :
o Corrosion management
o Process and commodity chemical management
o Installation and repair of coatings and linings
o Operation of ICCP, CP and RCP corrosion protection systems
o Materials failure analysis
o Subsea and Downhole facilities
Thorough knowledge of NACE standards and recommended practices
Familiarization with API standards, specifically 510, 570 and 571
Knowledge of equipment degradation mechanisms and applicable inspection detection methods
Awareness of pressure equipment design and construction codes
Demonstrated knowledge of company policies and procedures, industry practic
