Job Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of this role are:
Ensure all works are covered by work orders or through the CTR system.
Assist in monitoring costs against budget. Warn supervisor/Line Manager/ITL of potential overruns where appropriate.
Supervise technical assistants as required.
Support the Corrosion Engineers & Senior Corrosion Engineers (as applicable) in provision of specialist expertise, both to LR project teams and directly to clients, in the following areas:
Materials Selection and Review of Design Basis/Materials Suitability.
Corrosion Risk Assessment (including commissioning of appropriate databases, where necessary).
Corrosion Management Systems/Strategies.
Risk based inspection.
Failure Investigation.
Cathodic Protection.
Coatings.
Corrosion Awareness and Technical Skills Training.
Ad-hoc Consultancy/Troubleshooting (Process Investigation, Monitoring, Sampling, Mitigation, etc.).
Design, Implementation and Management of (on-line) Corrosion Monitoring Systems.
Identification and collation of relevant data from various sources, e.g. drawings, datasheets, manuals, inspection reports, etc.
Commissioning, interrogation and auditing of databases.

Job Requirements
Applicants should have a Degree in natural sciences, materials or engineering.
(No experience is required if qualifications include a corrosion component e.g. corrosion module within degree course, etc.).
You must have a proven track record of relevant experience, if qualifications do not include a corrosion component.
Versatile and flexible team player with good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Good attention to detail, able to write clear, concise and accurate reports and also interpret reports from 3rd parties.
Adaptable and well organised with a practical minded approach and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
