Our Client is an independent Australian oil and gas company playing a key role in supplying energy to our region. They are one of the world’s leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region. The organisation is one of the world’s preeminent producers of LNG; they also maintain a portfolio of non-LNG projects.
Their Communications Team manages the global telecommunications services on and to all the Company’s Production Assets. Services are provided through a mix of in-house resources and external service providers, to a range of customers including Drilling, Operational Assets and Capital Projects. The communications technologies include transmission networks, WAN, LAN with a focus on various electronic communications systems including UFH/VHF/HF radio, microwave, satellite, CCTV & Public Address systems.
The telecommunications environment changes constantly and communications engineering activities are carried out in an environment of rapid business, technological, legislative and regulatory change.
As a Communications Engineer with 5-10 years’ experience, you will plan, design and coordinate the installation and modifications to both current and proposed operational telecommunications infrastructure. In addition to this, you will advise on appropriate technical strategies/policies/methods and tools for services while also ensuring the technical integrity of the services.
You will have a tertiary qualification in electronic/communications engineering and be eligible for graduate membership of Engineers Australia. Expert knowledge of systems/traffic engineering and capacity planning, project planning and execution methodologies, QA, risk reliability and integrity analysis are desired. With a minimum of 5-10yrs relevant work experience, you will have good analytical and problem solving skills, be self-motivated and have a can-do attitude to issues and problems as well as excellent written and communication skills.
