The Company:
Our client is one of the major operators with assets all over the globe.
The Role:
To Implement, maintain, and improve the Smart Connect Portfolio (Condition Monitoring and machine surveillance of Rotating Equipment) on a regional basis.
Principal accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain expert role in condition monitoring and machine surveillance support for Rotating Equipment.
- Verify input for project designs and engineering
- Support the testing of equipment.
- Support new equipment condition monitoring technologies and identify and facilitate application and deployment.
- Support SmartConnect maintenance and operational issues programs with customers, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Provide training and coaching of staff
- Support colleagues with own expertise and support on boarding of new staff.
- Support development and application of new monitoring technologies, where applicable.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications: MSc (or BSc) in engineering
Experience:
- Experience in the oil industry, including work in Operating Units
- Experience working in multi discipline teams
- Extensive experience with condition monitoring and machine surveillance
- Extensive experience in troubleshooting of complex rotating equipment
- Others:
- good interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Understanding of the design and operation of major types of Rotating Equipment Centrifugal Compressors, Reciprocating Compressors, Centrifugal Pumps, Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines
- Basic understanding of thermodynamics of rotating equipment.
- Ability to read and understand the data presented in an Equipment data sheet, Equipment performance test report, Equipment performance curves, PEFS (Process engineering flow scheme) and P&IDs
- Extensive experience in technical reporting
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Other less critical Competences;
- Proficient in OSIsoft tools and technology
- In depth knowledge of PI Data historian
- Skilled in developing detailed PI Process-book displays
- Skilled in developing complex Excel based spreadsheets using PI data link
- Ability to develop applications using PI-SDK
- Skilled in using VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) in developing Excel and other macro based applications
- Knowledge of .NET based application development using VB.NET and PI-SDK
