Overview
• Position needs to serve all projects, primary in a consultancy role and not solely in the sulphur group.
• Incumbent needs to have a broad experience of operating a process plant, e.g. a refinery or gas plant and have spent some years on process plants. Off shore plant experience is not that critical as the processes are relatively simple.
• If possible incumbent should have some design experience. This may be during a project when employed by an operating company.
• Incumbent should have had experience producing operating philosophies and detailed operating procedures, mainly within the Sulphur Group.
• Applicants must display that they wish to remain in the UK for personnel and professional reasons.
Job description
• Reports to Process Technology Director.
• Responsible for all Plant Operations activities on all projects designed in the London office.
• Plan projects pre-commissioning and commissioning sequence to ensure a safe, quick and within schedule completion.
• Recruit Plant Operations engineers for projects in house and overseas as required.
• Organise reporting engineer’s workloads to ensure efficient working of personnel.
• Provide company presence and client support at site for new and revamped process units start ups.
• Train and advise junior engineers in Plant Operations duties/activities.
• Produce and review operating philosophies, operating manuals and operator training manuals.
• Conduct client operator and maintenance technicians training courses.
• Suggest improvements to working practices to immediate manager/project and peer discipline managers.
• Provide operational support for all engineering disciplines.
• Provide input to plant layout and model reviews.
• Review process P & IDs and equipment vendor documentation.
• Attend process HAZID, HAZOP and SIL reviews.
• Maintain cordial relations with client's personnel present on 'in office' projects.
• Maintain contact and good relations with past clients to receive feed back on the operation of WorleyParsons designed process units which can improve future plant design.
• Attend client sites to assist and advise with new and/or revamped process units start ups and test runs.
• Seek out follow on and new work from clients.
• Support 'Select' and 'Improve' managers in seeking new work.
• Acts as operations representative on PMC projects.
• Provide operational support for other offices Worldwide.
Qualification and Experience
• Incumbent does not have to be a process engineer; he/she could be from any discipline but does not have to have a degree
Must be eligible to work in the UK
