Job Description
The Role:
Perform bundle design and engineering activities associated with pipeline bundle construction and installation during tendering and detailed design stage.
Design and detailing in accordance with acknowledged industry Codes, Standards and Design Guides (eg DNV, BS, API); Client Specifications and Scopes of Work.
Conduct Finite Element Analysis using Abaqus software to model the bundle system, involving interaction of the connection system components (e.g. pipe to pipe interaction, seabed interaction).
Lateral buckling prediction of Bundle utilising Finite Element Techniques,
Conduct crossing design utilising Finite Element Analysis
Review of design documentation including feasibility reports, detailed design reports, construction drawings, design specifications, material take-offs, weight control calculations, etc for bundle design.
Undertake responsibility for production of deliverables, which may include engineering support to Drawing Office, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analysis, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various 3-rd party submissions.
Interfaces with associated subsea related disciplines and understand the interfaces within a project environment.
Engineering assistance and support during mobilisations and occasional periods of offshore or site working in support of Bundle Launch & Installation,
Proven track record in performing either bundle, pipeline, structural design with relevant previous experience at an appropriate level, is essential, or demonstrable expereince in Finite Element Analysis of pipeline systems would be desirable.
Experience in subsea pipeline, structural design essential; bundle design, desirable, including FEED and detailed design.
Knowledge of various relevant design codes and specifications, essential, eg ASME, BS, DNV.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferable in Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Civil, Structural or other relevant engineering discipline, essential
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Chartered Engineer or working towards the status would be desirable.
