Lead, motivate and manage a commercial team on site to ensure performance is optimised
Maximising commercial position on the Contract.within the terms and conditions of the agreement.
Maximising commercial position on all sub contract agreements with project services providers.
Providing commercial and contractual leadership and advice to the Project Team on Site
Administering the subcontracts and its subcontractors to ensure that the company fully complies with all of its contractual obligations and that all contract administration provisions are strictly adhered to regarding the serving of notices, payment processes, change notices etc., to protect and mitigate exposure
Administering management of main contract on Site between the client to monitor and ensure Site activities and deliverables are undertaken in accordance with agreed schedules, milestones and provisions of the contract, and that periodic status reporting of the activities is performed
Adapting approach to commercial management throughout the lifecycle of the project ensuring early recognition of potential changes and diligent change order control both upwards within the client’s Site and subcontractor management and also the Project management organisation
Developing elements of the project sub-contracting strategies in conjunction with the Project Services Manger and Construction Manager.
Managing major sub-contracts on Site in accordance with relevant policies and procedures and optimizing commercial position
Evaluating and settling of subcontractor claims in Conjunction with the relevant project team members and Project Services Manger
Approving subcontractor monthly payments and close out of subcontracts in accordance with contract requirements
Ensuring that information is available to support the project invoicing, development of schedule of contract rates and prices, contractual notices, variation and contract amendment requests and claims are administered and submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract
Ensuring that site project costs are effectively controlled
Ensuring that information for cost / value reporting and end life forecasting on the Site activities project is undertaken and that all the appropriate values are passed to the Project Cost Engineer
Ensuring that accurate and timely Site project cost reports are provided to the client Managing the time recording and distribution of data to allow payment of personnel and client reporting
A degree or diploma in a relevant technical, financial, legal or business discipline
More than 10 years of related experience in an engineering consulting or construction environment
Excellent knowledge and understanding of commercial, economic and business issues relating to the industry
Experience with the preparation and administration of commercial and contractual aspects of contracts, cost value analysis and reporting, subcontract award and administration and risk management
Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in order to meet strict deadlines
