The requirement is for an experienced Expatriate civil Site engineer to supervise the ongoing civil work operations in the south of Algeria. Preference will be for those with a Civil Engineer degree who have been involved in the oil industry operations with a broad knowledge of the type of civil works in this field, i.e, construction of drilling pads, all sorts of pits, airstrips, access roads, etc. In addition to their experience, the proposed candidates will be required to have a good knowledge in HSE, computers skills (word, excel an Outlook), to speak, write understand both English and French to carry out their day-to-day activities

Position Reports to: Civil Engineer (based in HME)

Qualifications :

- A strong safety culture and knowledge of the implementation of HSE and Environmental policies are required.

- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering.

- Civil experience minimum 10 years with knowledge of bulk earthworks, civil engineering or Oil and Gas project construction (Rig platforms, access roads, airstrips).

- Topographical knowledge.

- Familiar with the use of GPS, Thuraya phone and Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project.

- Language: English (spoken, written) French (spoken).

Duties:

• Conduct daily field visits to ensure control of work, organization in accordance with schedule defined in the Call Off, schedule daily field visits in agreement with the Civil Engineer;
• Complete the Daily report and issue to the Civil Engineer, complete the timesheets of daily equipment usage, engage daily telecons/communication with the Civil Engineer;
• Coordination of work between civil subcontractors and service companies working for BPXA on site;
• Technical assistance ;
• Represent Civil Engineer on site and ensure a smooth transmission of information and work orders from HMD to the work site ;
• Follow up, estimate and advise on work progress / completion;
• May have to draw technical sketches or layouts ;
• Manage civil construction activities on site in full compliance with BP HSE policies, procedures and expectations, with no accidents, harm to people and no damage to the environment.
• Ability to produce daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Liaison with key contractor’s personnel to ensure BP HSE goals and expectations are understood and complied with.
• It is important that the candidate demonstrates team spirit and ability to work and adapt in a multicultural environment.
• Good communication skills.
