The Company:
Our client is a nuclear specialist, covering both civilian and defence sectors, across the complete lifecycle from New Build, through Operations and Maintenance, to final decommissioning and waste disposal.

The Role:
Location : Scotland

Job Title: Chemistry Technician

My client is looking for a Gradute Chemist / Lab Technician for a long term contract in Scotland.
The role will be to assist the site project chemist in the analysis of liquid effluent discharges and associated trial work.

Dutie will include , but not limited to :

Sample preparation
Routine sample analysis using radiochemical and conventional chemistry techniques
Monitor by means of routine samples cartridge cooling pond pH
Assist in controlling sample management system
Calibration and function checking of Laboratory equipment
Trending of sample results for use by chemistry and other site staff
Stock checking and ordering of chemicals and laboratory consumables
Laboratory Housekeeping
Take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their work


The ideal candidate will be organised and efficient and have previous laboratory experience (either through education or employment)
You will have an awareness of chemical and safety hazards associated with laboratory work
There will be a requirement for early / late hours and some weekend working hence flexibilty wil be required.
You will also have effective communication and time management skills

The successful candidate will require Security Clearance and will need to of been resident in the UK for last 5 years

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
HNC/Degree in Chemistry or related subject
Experienced in using Microsoft office, particularly excel
