Job Description

Asset Rep

The position of Asset Rep will be based initially in Sunbury and at the Contractors offices for a short period in order to familiarise themselves with the project, procedures, expectations and in order undertake the necessary training. Following, the role will take on an offshore rotation consisting of 28 days on / 28 days off, offshore Angola on the Asset they have been designated to.

The position will report directly to the PSVM Installation manager but will require dual responsibility to both the PSVM Installation Manager and the relevant Contract Accountable Manager for the safe and efficient installation and hook-up of the of their scope, meeting quality and performance requirements, on schedule, and within the context of maximizing Project success and teamwork.

Site Representative HSE Responsibilities:

Ensure that the site and contractor are managing the work in accordance with the job planning and safety management system (SMS). This requires:-

  • Participation in the site job planning process
  • Understanding of the planning and safety management system
  • Regular audits of the work management processes to ensure that they are operating

Lead HSE initiatives, such as golden rule roll-outs, safety immersions, distribution and discussion on safety flashes and incident lessons learned

Take site ownership of any incidents

  • Review all site incident reports
  • Be first point of challenge on investigation quality and close-out actions
  • Discuss any serious or potentially serious incidents with management onshore to evaluate further action/assistance required
  • Audit to ensure actions are being closed in a timely manner

Have in place an HSE performance contract detailing:-

  • Input targets such as SOC, STOPs, training
  • Initiative to be led
  • Audit schedule

Be single point of contact for interfaces with other surrounding BP operations

Continuously monitor welfare issues at site and make onshore management aware of issues

Lead and be responsible for the other members of the site team

Understand the emergency response procedures and be single point of contact for the IMT for that site

1. Responsible to the CAM for the execution of the scope of work by:

  • Ensuring the Contractor performs the scope in full compliance with the contract and assist the CAM to identify, report & manage trends and opportunities
  • Ensuring all procedures and bridging docs are in place and being followed.
  • Identifying issues which may have a direct impact on contract, schedule and cost

2. Responsible to the PSVM Installation Manager for:

  • Maintaining the Standard for the Installation activities, ensuring the work is performed safely and efficiently
  • Maintain clear and regular communications and reporting to the PSVM Installation Manager or his delegate
  • Act as the Single Point of Contact on board the vessel
  • Ensuring that the Installation Contractors fully understand the Standards for the installation activities and HSSE expected of them, and implement a training and performance measurement programme to ensure these standards are delivered
  • Ensuring that the installation and construction hazard actions are identified, managed and mitigated on board their vessel
  • Supervising the execution of the offshore installation and construction activities through direct management and co-ordination with the main contractors and personnel on board the vessel
  • Ensure that all works on board are carried out in accordance with the relevant approved procedures, and in line with the operational and HSSE expectations,
  • Ensure that any deviations from the approved procedures are dealt with in accordance with the appropriate MOC process
  • Demonstrate active and clear personal leadership in HSSE across all aspects of the scope
  • Monitor and participate in the HSSE Management System for the scope, including Emergency Planning, Emergency Response & SimOps procedures and bridging documents
  • Review and approve the DPR’s being distributed on board the vessel
  • Actively and regularly participate in the vessel weekly safety meetings, project meetings, tool box talks and progress meetings
  • Participate in the daily vessel calls, providing concise reports
  • Ensure that the appropriate support teams are on board during
