The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, seeks expertise for offshore mega-projects in Canada.
This opportunity is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. First consideration will be given to residents of Newfoundland & Labrador.
The Role:
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide joint interest, royalty and accounting support for Eastern Canada Assets.
Duties:
Provide royalty cost reporting and analysis support related to current and historical joint account and owners filings.
Provide analysis of agreement clauses
Provide monthly and quarterly monitoring and stewardship of status of audits and outstanding issues.
Assessment of current accounting procedures/processes for improvement, assessment of automation opportunities, and conduct activity analysis
Lead / facilitate continous improvement (CI) projects for Controllers group
Deliverables:
Monitoring, analysis and resolution of outstanding audit issues
Review and restatement of monthly and annual reports
Compliance review of commercial agreements
Examination of billing processes
Monitoring progress of CI projects for Controllers group
Interface Responsibilities:
Liase with Eastern Canada Controllers staff
Liase with auditors
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
10 years accounting experience
Strong audit and controls experience
University degree with a major in accounting
Professional accounting designation preferred
Strong analytical skills
Strong system skills (experience in SAP an asset)
