Job Description
The Company:
Our major Oil & Gas Client is in need of a Financial Accountant in Houston, Texas for a 3 month assignment.
The Role:
Accountabilities:
The position is primarily responsible for assisting the team of the delivery of Global G&A Reporting, Costing and Analysis include the following:
-Assist the delivery of global G&A management reporting. Assist the team in generating and distributing reports to budget holders, PLT, Finance leadership group, and the Business Partners. Prepare budget-versus-actual commentary. Organize and archive reporting.
-Assist team in timewriting oversight. Assist the team in generating timewrite reports and to address any deficiencies with the business.
-Manage the recording of G&A accruals to the general ledger. Coordinate the gathering of appropriate information and ensure complete and accurate recording to the ledger. Oversee appropriate process for reversing and updating accrued activity. Ensure documentation of all related month- and year-end processes is robust and reflects sound internal control practice.
-Prepare monthly account reconciliations. Complete monthly account reconciliations in accordance with GLD requirements. Ensure appropriate supporting documentation is provided and any actions required to clear reconciling items are clearly defined.
Role's Core Competencies:
-Shows basic understanding of G&A costing system, process & methodologies
-Performs costing reconciliations and assists with month-end cost accounting close
-Completes monthly accruals and reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience & Qualifications Required:
-Bachelors degree in Business with a strong accounting representation
-Payroll experience preferred but not required
-CPA preferred but not required
-Superior interpersonal skills to handle various customer and stakeholder groups
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
